Jonathan - Finished Restart Cycle

I came on here a while ago saying I had resumed lifting. Well I have finally finished that first lifting cycle, a month-long Sheiko #37 plan.

I ended up working at my full Sheiko Max's within 2 weeks or so, even though it was hard. It turns out, my maxes were dialed higher than I remember.

Here's what I ended up using as my max inputs to the plan:
Bench: 250
Squat: 315
Dead: 441

Keep in mind, my actual maxes are of course lower than this, and it's been ages (probably 8-10 months) since I've last tested my maxes. If I can even remember back that far, my maxes were:
Bench: 220
Squat: 300
Dead: 435

As the intensity dialed up on the last two weeks of Sheiko, I realized how heavy my inputs were. I'm not going to increase the inputs for the next cycle; instead I may try a new Sheiko plan or even do the same one again. The 2x3x85% and 3x6x80% sets were very difficult, and I think I can definitely add strength by continuing this high work intensity at these weights. I haven't even thought about testing maxes again but I'll worry about that in a month or so.

I'm getting chatty with some of the regulars at the gym, but there is no organized group so I don't have a possy to lift with any more. Definitely saps some motivation and makes the 1.5-2 hours a little more boring. So enjoy the crew while it's there! Miss you guys.

  1. Not having a team kind of sucks, but if you keep it up, maybe you'll end up leading one of your own :).
