Frank (11/7): Deload Week, Squats

I've been feeling a little beaten up, so I thought a deload week between the volume and intensity cycles would be a good idea.

Squat: 6x295
No belt, though I brought mine to the gym. This was surprisingly hard, and all the reps were slow. I'm sure I could have gotten a few more, though, not that I wanted to.

Deficit Deadlifts: 6x365
Again, these felt harder than they should have. I almost lost 365 on the second rep. Ah well.

Pistols: 3x4
Ab Rollout: 3x3

I remember now why my workouts used to be so short. If you're only doing one real work set per exercise, the entire thing takes no time at all.

  1. I'm not sure if a deload week is necessary when you move from a volume to an intensity block. If the reason for feeling beat up is training, then maybe the volume block was too intense.

Question: pulling 6x365 from red+green without a belt is deload? Is there anyone else at MIT who can do this? Maybe Rene (Nate is TPS, not MIT).

  2. Well, you know, 10-20% less than my work sets for a single set (instead of multiple sets). Maybe not a true deload week, but much lighter than usual.

Maybe I'll call this a 110% Deload week...
