still deloading which, in and of itself, is largely insignificant. However...
Prowlered my way around for about a quarter of a mile or so, then did the Defranco prowler challenge at half weight. All aches and pains magically gone.
Also how come no one has publicized the fact that when pushed on pavement for speed the prowler sparks like nobody's business? It's freaking awesome, would've bought one sooner if I had known this.

Shanker, are you worried that pushing the prowler a lot will hamper the effect of the deload week?
ReplyDeleteHere is a very logical explanation for why prowlers are not needed as far as powerlifting is concerned: There are no prowlers in Russia!

Also, it should be noted that since I can say with relative certainty that my odds of being a champion powerlifter are minimal at best, my overall perspective on powerlifting comes from the Jim Wendler/Paul Carter school of thought.
And, most importantly, I like it.

ReplyDeleteRegarding the sentence "my odds of being a champion powerlifter are minimal at best": Will you be able to total over 1600 @ 198 in 10 years? This can be broken down into: 550 + 400 + 650, which is light-years from your current strength, but there is still some time left till 2020. I think that if someone does this raw, tested, and in a legit federation, he should enter the top 50 (over all weight classes, feds, ...) in powerlifting watch. Check with Nate about this (I'm not sure).
