Also, with football season here (FINALLY!) I'd like to point you to a nice article on 6'7" Philip Daniels, DE for the Washington Redskins, competitive powerlifter (At least in the offseason) and owner of monster garage gym. Proof that, in fact, not all football players are "weak." I know Dave will love this.

I actually did know about him prior to this post on PLW...there are plenty of videos of his lifts on youtube.

I'm sure that most professional football players are very strong (using the raw powerlifting definition of "strength"). But I'm almost sure that the AVERAGE NFL player cannot compete with the AVERAGE IPF (world championship) lifter at the same bodyweight category.
ReplyDeleteI don't like football players because they are stronger than me. I think in a year or two I'll start to like some NFL players.
ReplyDeleteAs of right now, Aaron only likes girls gymnastics.
ReplyDeleteShanker: Enjoyed the article despite the fact that the subject plays for Washington (how do you find this stuff anyways?...) As for YouTube videos I will stick to "Ratliff is a beast..."
ReplyDeleteAaron: From the lifts you posted yesterday you can start liking some NFL players now...
