Shanker Deadlift PR x 3 x4...hehehe

Good day. That's all I'll say right now...but, those of you who can, critique away.
I posted videos of all working sets.
(Warning to those offended by dudes lifting heavy things in singlets)

Deadlift
135x10
225x10
315x6

(belted)
365x4
405x2
425x2

455x3
455x3
455x3 (hitched rep 3)
455x3 (is the last one hitched? Ansel was watching in person and says yes)

Quick thoughts:
-Need to set up, and set lower back before pulling
-Need to initiate hip drive earlier
-Is my lockout now weaker than the lower part of the lift? Certainly looks so from rep 3 in sets 3 and 4.
-Roar.

Box Squat
45x10
135x8
185x5
225x5
275x3
315x3 (WARNING...TURN DOWN THE VOLUME ON VIDEO. ANNOYING ASS ZCENTER ANNOUNCEMENTS BLAST THE CRAP OUT OF THIS)
315x3
315x3
315xF

  2. I said it a few times before: W(TF) happened to the guy that was crushed by a 275 SQ and totally disabled by 425x2 DL?

    Anyway:
-- All reps were unhitched. There is a difference between hitching and inching.
-- Some DL reps are really nice, those where you are looking forward and down, with chest out and relatively straight lower back. When you are looking straight down, it's not as nice, but still ok.
-- For the meet, I wouldn't change anything in the DL other than these pointers, but in the long run some things still need to be fixed.
-- When you are doing box squats, make sure to place the safety bars higher (they seem to be too low).

  3. Thanks guys.

@Aaron, I think I got that squat MO from you.

@Danny, I will keep these things in mind. Thanks for the critique, hopefully I can catch you on gchat sometime during the week.

  4. It's hard to tell from this angle, but it looks OK to me.

Wear a t-shirt underneath your singlet. It's part of the rules anyway, so might as well get used to it.

  5. Also, I have also started having a harder time at lockout now that I've gotten stronger. I used to fail at the floor. Now I fail (it gets tough) a little above my knees.
