I haven't posted in a while. Been training with Mike Nackoul- super strong and a great guy.
Snatch High Pull-
50 kilosx5
70 kilosx3
At this point, I felt like going for a snatch PR.
Snatch-
70 kilosx1
75 kilosx1 (3 kilo PR)
80 kilosx3xFAIL
With each attempt, I was just worse and worse. I wanted to give it one more shot. After some rest, Mike told me to clear my mind, and just pull.
80 kilosx1 (8 kilo PR)
Content after nailing it on the fourth try. Goal is to have a minimum of 90 kilos by the end of April.
11 Front Squat pyramid-
90 kilos- 5x5
100 kilos- 1x3
110 kilos- 2x3
120 kilos- 2x2
120 kilos- 1x1
According to Mike, the last set is more of a "mental set"- giving it your best even after a draining session (he ended with 170 kilos, or 375 lbs o_O). I'm super pumped.
Also, Mike and I are planning on setting up a legit weightlifting club here at MIT (olympic weightlifting and powerlifting too, and we could set up base at the duPONT gym, where apparently more platforms are being built). We feel MIT has untapped potential. I'll keep you posted.
