I played around with my stance and technique a bit. Lauren and Carlos suggested I widen my stance a bit (to roughly shoulder width, which is very wide...I apparently have very broad shoulders) and use flat-soled shoes. The reps felt slower but were much more controlled. I will try this for one cycle to see how it feels.
