Turkey Lifting

I don't know why I chose to post this workout of all the ones I've done lately... Whatever. I'm on vacation, I lifted @ 24-hr fitness.

Good mornings - 275x5x3, 295x5 - Felt good.

Bench - 225x5x2, 245x4 - Two plates was really easy, but 245 wasn't.

Leg press - did sets of 8 reps working up to 4.5 plates each side - the 24-hr fitness has this really terrible leg press with a "mini" plate to put your feet on, so you can't actually keep your knees from going ridiculously out in front of your toes. Its retarded.

Dumbbell press - 50x8, 55x8x3

Cardio tomorrow, unless I'm sore ... haven't lifted in almost a week from vacation activities.

  1. Since the hardcore lifters in these gyms prefer to use 200 plates on the leg press with a 5-inch range of motion, they never run into the problem of knees going too much forward :) But as long as they look good on stage / at the beach / at the club / in front of the bathroom mirror / ... that doesn't matter. And also, it's better than squats, because it's not dangerous to your knees.

  2. How many reps for the turkey lift?

  3. Aaron, it depends on the band tension.

  4. Yea...if the band you're talking about is the waistband on your sweats...

  5. What was the RPE for the turkey lift? I'm not sure what your max turkey curl is these days.
