I almost had this, but the spotter touched the bar before I could grind it out. !@#*.
Fx365
Same spotter. Same problem. Even though I explicitly told him not to. Oh well.

Close-Grip Bench
1x295
Not that hard. Got a much better spotter this time.

Dips: 4x8 @ 80
Dumbbell Preacher Curl: 2x6 @ 45

  1. I want names. People like this should be blacklisted.

  2. I think it was "big-armed-guy-with-skinny legs", or it might have been "guy-that-does-bench-press with-225-and-looks-at-you-like-he-owns-you." Or it could've been Chris =).

  3. I don't have skinny legs, big arms or a 225 bench, so there. :P

  4. Frank, you can try to order from EFS this bar:
http://www.elitefts.com/view/?sp=24 (Olympic Style EZ Curl Bar). Here we avoid doing barbell curls, but still, it's great for smashing the head of "helpful" spotters.

  5. I had the same issue a while ago. I complained about it on the blog too lol. Not much we can do if we don't know the people that are spotting us.

  6. I didn't get his name, but he was a tall, lanky, older guy with glasses. I should really learn to do my bench/lockout sessions when you guys are around, though.

  7. And it wasn't Paul. Paul is pretty good about spotting.

  8. Clearly, lanky = bad spotter. You want to pick compact people, who are willing to wedge themselves under the bar if need be.

  9. Yes, we like Paul...he's one of the good guys.
