Chris - 10/29

5/3/1, Wave A, Military Press

Military Press:
Warmup: 45x5; 55x5; 70x3
75x5
85x5
95x14
Weak.

Military Press (assistance):
70x10; 70x10; 70x10; 70x10; 70x10

Chinups:
+0x10; +0x10; +0x10; +0x10; +0x10
Holy crap these got hard towards the end.

In and out in an hour. I'm liking 5/3/1's time commitment, at the very least.

  1. Hey Q,
the +0 means that Chris did the chinups without any added weight. If one were to do them with lets say, a 45, he would write "+45", etc.

  2. How is x14 weak?
Given your extra conservative TM's it seems like everything in your heaviest 5 set can be hit for 10-15 reps. Which makes this right in line with everything else youve logged. If you keep this up for 3 cycles and 95x14 becomes 105-115x10 this would roughly imply a 140-155lb press. Seems like good progress to me.

  3. Oh. I usually write that +0 as bw for bodyweight or just write that as "Pullups: 10 x5".
