Monday: Deadlift 340lbs x5 reps
350lbs x5 reps x2 sets
Overhead Press: 105lbs x5 reps x2 sets
115lbs x5 reps
Pull ups +35lbs x5 reps
Chin ups +35lbs x5 reps x2 sets
2-hand plate pinches: 2 5kg plates + 70lbs #I couldn't find the other 5kg plates
Deadlifts ended up being easier than I though, so I upped it. Kind of wish I didn't, but I'm pretty much at my previous limit of strength, so any more gains after this is a PR. OP was a mistake, I meant for it to be 115 and not 105, oh well. Chins were good.
Thursday: High Bar Squat: 280lbs x5 reps x3 sets
Bench Press 180lbs x5 reps x3 sets
Pendlay Rows w/ a pause: 145lbs x5 reps x2 sets
155lbs x5 reps x2 sets
2-hand Plate Pinches: 4 5kg plates +40lbs
Squats were difficult, had to grunt on the last rep of the last sets. Depth was fine thanks to my stretching. Bench was decent. Glad I'm back to benching, I feel some good progression in the next few weeks. Pendlay rows were good.
Overall a good week. I'm realizing it isn't about max strength but more about progression. I went relatively light for the previous month, doing weight I've done before, and built it up 5-10lbs at a time to this week. And I can feel I'm good for at least a month of +5lbs progression, even on bench and OP. My eatings not too good, but I eat enough. Shoulder isn't bothered by bench. I've been stretching it.
I really do want to lift with you guys, but I have to wake up at 7am or 8am each day for work, and I really can't lift at 7-8pm at night. At least during summer. I'm going to try to time my sessions so I can at least lift with you guys Sat or Sun. My hard squat session today made me think "man, I need to lift with the other guys."

It'll be good to see you again. In the summers, I lift Mon/Thu/Fri at 6 or 7 and Sun at 3 or 4. I'm not 100% sure what everyone else's schedule is like.
ReplyDeleteyea, sadly there is no more "guys." your best bet is myself, Frank or Chris, since none of us has a posse, we'll actually have time to give an extra eye.
ReplyDeleteand Nate and Dee of course.
