... to prepare for the AAU meet in about 4 weeks.
I did almost the same thing for the last meet, so, hopefully I'll be ready.
I start 4 weeks out, so 9th week of the 12 week program.
Squat: 95x1x3, 110x1x3, 140x2x3, 150x3x2
Felt pretty good. I was most comfortable pushing my knees out and balanced on the middle/front, rather than my weight back on my heels (If I did, I had less power and speed). I think this may be the influence of doing lots of full cleans/front squats and speed work squats in the last few weeks.
Bench: 65x1x3, 75x1x3, 85x2x3, 95x3x2
Felt good, strong, fast, minimal hips-coming-off-bench.

Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteI've found the same thing. If I sit way back on my heels, I have to bend too far forward to compensate. Then again, you do run a greater risk of caving forward if the weight is on your toes. I think the mid-foot is probably better.
What are you looking to do at the meet? 200/135/300?
Good luck in the meet!!!
ReplyDeleteDee is shooting for 750/500/750 for a 2000 lb total and a 1395 lb meet PR.
ReplyDeleteFrank: you are on the money. The only thing I would try to improve on is DL, since I had so much more left in the tank at the last meet. The others I just want to match PR's.
ReplyDeleteThanks Danny!
So cute...they even comment at the same time...

ReplyDeleteCompletely, 100% honest -- it was a coincidence. I guess it's just meant to be, eh?
