Justin - 5/3/1 and injured

Hey guys,

I haven't been posting for the last couple weeks because injuries have kept me out of the big lifts. They are starting to get better though, I did bench press monday and going to do squats today. Still no dice on deadlift though.

Bench - 225x11

Dips - BWx10,8,8

Bench - 135x20x3

  1. Squats were a bust. I should probably see a chiropractor or something. Any recommendations?

  2. What hurts?

In the absence of us being there, go see a doctor. It's virtually impossible to diagnose stuff over the web.

Hell, even if we're there, go see a doctor. None of us is qualified to help beyond the minorest of minor injuries (pulled muscles, etc.).

  3. It's a lower back thing. Bending over too far, rounding my back, or anything like that aggravates it. The trainer says it's probably just inflammation, but it's been ongoing for like a month regardless of the rehab movements that I've been doing.

  4. The only test I know is that if you perform an exercise that aggravates it (e.g. squats) with very low weight and high reps, and it feels better, then it's probably just a muscular thing that you can work through. If it doesn't feel better, it's probably something more serious.

I wouldn't trust your trainer. He should have been able to at least tell you what it was an inflammation of. Go see a doctor.
