Frank (3/2): Starting Strength

Back Squat
5x45, 5x95, 5x135, 5x185, 5x225, 5x275
5x315 @ 8
5x315 @ 8
5x315 @ 8
I tried a slightly wider stance than normal (feet outside shoulder width). This is not very comfortable for me because I get almost no "pop" out of the hole. I played with a few different stances for these sets, all generally wide, but nothing felt great. I think I may move back to a slightly narrower stance (shoulder width or just a bit wider).

Bench Press
5x45, 5x95, 5x135, 5x185
5x225 @ 8
5x225 @ 8
5x225 @ 8
These felt fine.

Some light deadlifts and RDLs
Ab Rollout: 3x3

My plan from here on out will be something like this:

Day 1: Heavy Squat, Bench, Deadlift assistance (per RTS), accessory work
Day 2: Light Squat, Military Press, Some Pulling Motion (pullups, rows), accessory work
Day 3: Heavy Squat, Bench, Deadlift (per RTS), accessory work

This is basically a modified Starting Strength program with the RTS deadlifts subbed for the pulling motion. My rationale is that (1) I can get in a fairly high volume of heavy squatting and benching, (2) I can start light with both movements and make sure that my form stays consistent during weight increases, (3) I can increase the weight fairly quickly, so even if I start light, I won't be behind for long, and (4) it worked for Gordon =).
