Frank (12/8): RTS Volume, Squats

Back Squat

The last set only felt like a 10 because I tried to sink the very last rep as deep as I could comfortably go. Shanker said the first four reps of the last set were IPF parallel, so I assume the other reps were fine as well.

There was some bad rounding on set 4. I got Rene and Shanker to yell at me on set 5 if I continued to round, but apparently if I focus on keeping a good arch I do OK.

Ab Rollout: 3x6
I didn't have enough energy in me to do pistols today, and it was getting late anyway.

In other news, we measured our wingspans today and it turns out that my wingspan is about 4" wider than my height (so a 6' wingspan and 5'8" height, roughly). This depresses me. I thought I was really strong because of my recent deadlift max. Now, it turns out that I'm just built like an orangutan.

  1. Yes, you are getting an extra 300 lbs from this wingspan, and about 200 from the belt. So your true max deadlift is around 45 (= empty bar), which is not that impressive.
