This was just a light workout in the week between the meet and commencement of serious training. For lack of a better plan, I just did what I usually do on Tuesdays.
Speed Bench: 3@145, 7x3@155
The 145 felt pretty light. Then I remembered that I actually managed to get 290 at the meet, so I should probably bump up my speed bench a bit. 155 felt just fine.
Close-Grip Bench: 8, 5, 4 @ 225
This made me realize that I'm more tired than I thought I was. The first set was OK. I gassed out after the fifth rep on the second set.
Pullups: 4x6@65
It's about time to up the weight on these.
Military Press: 8, 6, 4 @ 155
Bleh. No better and no worse than a slightly below-average day in the gym.
Barbell Curl: 8, 6 @ 95
Save the best for last.
Ab Pulldowns: 3x15@190
Woodchoppers: 3x15@60
Oddly enough, my left adductor feels more injured/sore than usual even though I haven't done anything to put much stress on them, except maybe the squats on Saturday.
CoC #1: 7, 7, 3
These were more like grip attemps, since I didn't actually manage to close them each time. It was a sure sign that I was fatigued, anyway.

Are you planning on the same program for "serious training," or to try a new one?
ReplyDeleteI will almost certainly do something different, though how different it will be is up in the air.
