Deadlifted 460 last week (10 lb PR), was a bit slow (probably didn't help that I didn't get it on my first attempt).
Squatted today. Got 405. YES! That's a 20 lb PR. It felt pretty easy too.
That puts me at a ~345 lb bench, 405 squat, and 460 deadlift. Plan is to peak for meet in December. Any suggestions/tips appreciated.
Grats on 4 wheels brah.
ReplyDeleteNice work JC. 1300 would be a great total.
ReplyDeleteNice! That's a solid total. As for the meet, I wouldn't stress too much about peaking for your first meet. Just go and compete to get a feel for what it's like, then worry about doing it properly the next time.
ReplyDeleteIn general, though, I would train right up until the second-to-last week, test my openers (which should be my last warmup, or ~90-95% of my max) on the Saturday before the weekend of the meet, and that's it. It's not ideal, but it's simple and fairly sensible, I think.
