Eunice (3/8)

Hello! One of my idiosyncratic workouts.. didn't push too hard today; forgot my belt at home and had less than an hour

Squat

137.5x5x3 (some ugly ones in the beginning)

felt pretty good about my squats, though hoping to get in more regularly and building weight back up.

Eunice (8/5)

I took off from work early yesterday (8/5) and promptly took a nap while it rained and poured buckets for hours outside and the markets went haywire. That was unbelievably refreshing! I felt like I was a walking zombie beforehand.

Whoo! Summer PR! :) And I was also trying to be more mindful of my form; second set was tough and a bit ugly, but I really cleaned up and worked for that last set. Felt great!

My roommate was with me at the gym, so we did a set of the P90X, Ab Ripper and some other random exercises. Sprinkled in some dips, pull ups, chin ups, and isolation stuff too.

I'm heading into my last week down here in Charlotte, so it's time to start packing and eating whatever is in my fridge. I cooked a pound of ground turkey the other day, but then my mom told me of a ground turkey recall in California.. I'm going to play the odds and eat my turkey burgers anyway! ;)

Eunice (8/2)

I took a 2-day hiatus from the gym.. felt like forever! Went to a Brazilian steakhouse for dinner last night and had far more than my fair share of protein--for the week! Split my workout into two today; cardio for an hour, an hour break, then just did squat and power cleans. X-bar again.

Eunice (7/29)

I came in to the gym later than usual.. with the "aw, f*** it" mindset. Thought it would a bad w/o day so I figured I would take it easy; felt a bit lazy and sluggish--blame it on the peanut butter and pretzels I downed after coming back from work.

But apparently, the day had other surprises in mind.. good surprises. (using X-weight bar)

yep.. apparently I got "summer bests" across the board today!! And I can definitely tell my triceps are getting stronger, or at least its evidenced by the fact that I've been going up in weight for the isolation exercises.

Thanks for the response to the previous post, everyone. I think I'll give it a try sometime at a low weight.
@Frank: I doubt that I'll be squatting 400 anytime soon.. or EVER for that matter, so I thankfully won't have to worry about that.
@Keone and Shankar: I may very well be one of those girls.. Keone, will you let me use a man-pon?!

I power cleaned a bit, set of 10 reps with the x-bar.
I also did dips.. like 8 of them (9 today, 7/27).. I've never been able to do dips before, so that was pretty exciting!

Eunice (7/22)

The goal was to increment.. it kind of worked. I have no immediate goals and don't feel particularly motivated to be making any gains. I've hit a wall of complacency :|
In regards to weight, I'm not entirely certain only because the bar I'm using is not the standard 45-lb. One of the guys at the front desk of the gym said that it was somewhere between 52.5 to 55-lbs inclusive. So we'll for now just refer to that as weight X.

There's no doubt numbers went down, but it seems like it's just something that happens during the summer transition. I'm also trying to implement different body placement, based off feedback from Keone after the seminar he attended, which also depressed some weight. I need motivation, though. I can't seem to bring myself to want to push
myself. On the bright side, I can tell my arms and legs are getting slightly more defined.

Eunice (June-July overview)

This is a recap, no numbers.

I put up my first blog post a while ago complete with reps, numbers, the whole shebang. But then I guess the backend crashed and my post was never recovered. So I gave up. It took me long enough to decide to write one up only for it to disappear somewhere in cyberspace. But I was prompted to start up again.
I'm in Charlotte, NC for the summer. Not my first location of choice, but I guess I can't really complain. The apartment I'm at provides a free gym membership. The place is nice, but there's no free bar so I make do with a smith machine. Granted, it has 2 degrees of freedom so its better than it could've been, but it's definitely not the same.
Been a gym-rat as of late; go there 5-6 times a week, for approx 2 hr at a time (seriously, I've nothing better to do). I've been benching, squatting, deadlifting (I pad the bottom bars) every other day or so, alternating with cardio. Today is a lifting day; the goal is to increment. I'll put up numbers when I have them. Don't have any goals at the moment, but perhaps I'll make some once I get back to Boston.

This is me logging Eunice's workout in a separate post to avoid confusion.

I think Eunice needs to talk to Dee at least once or twice. We have some questions about the form for bench and power clean due to, um, anatomical differences between men and women. (Bench should be obvious. For power clean, she can't keep the bar as close to her body as I would like to avoid collisions.) Also I think it would be cool for her to train with someone as awesomely strong as Dee. With a 200 lb deadlift at 105 with minimal training, she will be chasing your deadlift, Dee...
