Justin 5/3/1

The plan was to do bench day today and then try light squats since my back had been feeling better over the last couple days, but it was acting up today, so no such luck.

Good workout. Doing only bench day is getting boring though. Will be excited when I can start up squats/deads again. I see the trainers again next week, so we'll see what the prognosis is.

  1. Wait, so you did the normal prescribed 5-3-1 template for benching, then volume of 5 sets of 5 on top of that? PLUS dips?
    That's...a lot...

  2. I thought of the 5x5 and dips as assistance. I was doing only a little less volume than that before, but the big difference is this volume is at a higher intensity. It's an experiment, and it may be too much, but I wanted to switch things up because progress had been kinda slow.
