Today was a weird day. I'm back at home and went with my little brother and friend to lift. I taught them what I knew about squat and deadlift and they lifted with me. Well, as I'm warming up I notice I'm a bit more tired during said warmup than usual. I take no heed and proceed to pound out the 295lbs. Well, It was really hard, and it didn't look like I was hitting depth. So I lowered the weight, but then said, well if the weight is lower I might as well try high bar. It didn't go so well, and I called it quits for squat and pretty much decided this might be a light day.
I went to dead, which turned out a bit easier and after 315 felt light I said "what the hell" (in more vulgar terms) and did 365, which might be a PR.
Remembering how I used to do 95lbs for a 3x8, I tried that again. Not as strong as I hoped. The new gym didn't have bumper plates, so I couldn't do my cleans and snatches.
I guess it was sort of a bad day, maybe its my fault for getting back into lifting the wrong way and going heavy. We'll see on Wednesday. On the plus side, the power racks and deadlift mats were in the corner right next to a bench. And there were 250lb+ plers there screaming their lungs out repping 295lbs or something higher than 275 but under 315. They saw me teaching my little bro how to dead and said "thats a real education right there!" Another guy gave me the advice to keep my butt back like "how I was doing in squats" when I deadlift. I was beaming so much knowing they watched me squat, I barely registered the advice.
