It is a program for people who are world champion caliber and have had years of developing their work capacity in order to handle the volume. Most people I've heard of who do Smolov either get injured or end up weaker than when they started. I strongly recommend against this.
Frank did this program recently, he can give you more information.
Justin, check my logs that have the "smolov" tag (that you've actually already used...). I do think I got marginally stronger, though I got sick, not injured. Still, it probably wasn't worth it. It almost certainly isn't worth it for you, since you're still a beginner. I would say linear progression is still the way to go.
No, I had a hard time walking, but that was because I lacked the energy to walk. Once I recovered after a week or two, I was just fine. Real structural injuries (muscle pulls, tears, etc.) take longer to heal than that.

ReplyDeleteI think Frank's optimism is getting the better of his memory. He was unable to walk for most of the time he was on smolov.
