Frank (4/8): Starting Strength, Light

I'm finally back. Hooray.

Back Squat
5x45, 5x135, 5x225
5x275 @ 8
5x275 @ 8
These were harder than they should have been. My muscles felt ok, but my coordination and technique were a little off.

Military Press
5x45, 5x105
5x162.5 @ 9
5x162.5 @ 9/10
5x162.5 @ 9/10
As with squats, the muscular strength was there, but I was really wobbly on the way up and on the way down. I think I'll get back into the swing of things in a few days.

Pullups
5x70 @ 8
5x70 @ 8
5x70 @ 8
Easy. My pulling is always strong. Personally, I think pulling stuff requires less coordination than pushing stuff.

Ab Pulldown: 3x15@190
Dumbbell Curl: 2x10@40

I've taken deload and off weeks before, but never quite like this. For one thing, I spent part of the time sick or poisoned, and I spent at least three full days doing literally nothing but sitting on my butt on a plane. I also did pretty much nothing while I was gone. No pushups. No pullups. No situps. No air squats. Thankfully, my strength is still mostly there (I think). The only thing I've noticed is that my glutes are much less ample, which was particularly evident while squatting and foam rolling. Ah well.

  1. Maybe you missed my post Frank, but big deload = big PR!!!!!!! Lol. Impressive presses.

  2. Hah, no worries, Aaron, I saw your PR =). I'm still recovering a bit (still haven't eaten a full day's worth of food, and I'm afraid to weigh myself), so I haven't been reading the blog very diligently. I usually see the same thing, but this time is different, I think.
