Just to let everybody know, we are earning 5-20 cents a days for the ads on this website. I'll keep track of the total and we can all decide what to do with it.
-Fractional plates for the Z-center gym?
-A nice belt for the Z-center gym?
-Other ideas?

Fractional plates are a good idea. We should also see about getting a locker to store shared stuff. I can put my bands and chalk there in case anyone needs it.
ReplyDeleteAnd out of curiosity, what does it average out to be? 5c per day would be like $20 per year, which might be enough to rent a locker...
ReplyDeleteIf people weren't so freaking obsessed with linear progression you wouldn't need fractional plates. Just man up and round to the nearest 5, geeze.
ReplyDeleteGiving like 15 people access to the combo lock for a particular lock seems like a good way to have all your crap stolen. Not to imply anyone here would steal things, but if 15 people know it, I guarantee you others do as well. Might as well leave the damn thing unlocked.
ReplyDeleteShankar, you are wrong about fractional plates. For the overhead press or bench press, a 5 pound jump is alot. I hit 5x5 @205 last week, but missed 5x5@210 yesterday. I would have preferred to try 5x5 @207.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you in principle, that fractional plates are not a neccessity, which is evidenced by the fact that I haven't bought them, but they would be nice.
Do you have any other ideas? What about a GHR bench in 2015?
Frank, since we have only had ads for a few days, I'm not really sure what it average out to. It depends alot on the traffic, which is quite variable.
ReplyDeleteAlso, please don't just click on lots of ad links randomly. Google with turn off the ads pretty quickly if we do.
ReplyDeleteOh, and one more thing. Google doesn't pay out until the total is over $100, so we have some time to decide what to do with the $$$$.
ReplyDeleteYesterday we earned $0.97, because people were clicking on links.
As it turns out, the oly-style collars you see scattered around are about 1lb apiece, making for an effective 2lb weight increase. The clips themselves weigh about 0.5lb apiece. I don't know if it's honestly worth spending the money on fractional plates unless you really need the extra quarter pound load per side.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the collars/clips are probably easier to find in general instead of having to ask around about who forgot to put the fractional plates back for the nth time.
